Grant Wood Fellow in Printmaking, 2012/2013
The University of Iowa School of Art and Art History seeks applications from emerging to mid-career artists in printmaking for the Grant Wood Fellowship Program. The ideal applicant will have received an MFA in printmaking, show evidence of a beginning to somewhat established national exhibition record or demonstrate professional experience equivalent, and have some teaching experience.
Possible courses the candidate will teach:
- Elements of Printmaking
- Introduction to Printmaking
- Intermediate Printmaking (media specific)
- Advanced Printmaking
- Graduate Print Workshop
Fellowship period: mid-August 2012 through mid-August 2013.
Fellows receive:
• private studio
• furnished housing (in a shared, off- campus residence)
• part-time teaching experience at The University of Iowa
• Solo exhibition
Fellowship recipient responsibilities:
• Teach one class per semester in The University of Iowa School of Art & Art History, Printmaking Area
• Present a public lecture about your work
• Participate in limited public outreach activities (for example: radio interview, discussion of your work with a local arts organization)
• Solo exhibition
Applications must include:
• Link to artist’s website providing digital documentation of recent work (at least 20 images with slide script/ description of work)
